COUNTDOWN TO WACKEN 2024!
Wacken Open Air 2024 is upon us!
Soon the holy grounds in Wacken, Germany will once again be filled with 85,000+ metalheads who will make the journey from all around the world to the legendary music gathering.
Besides being the 33rd edition of the festival, this year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Wacken Metal Battle. Stoked to help represent Canada with the Wacken Metal Battle Canada crew! The winners this year are Beguiler out of Ontario and they are ready to kick some serious ass on a Bullhead City stage.
Wacken Open Air takes place July 31-Aug 3 with a stacked lineup including Scorpions, Blind Guardian, Accept, The Darkness, and SO MANY BANDS CHECK OUT THAT POSTER. The theme this year is witches and magic? Or dragons? I hope it’s dragons, I’m honestly not quite sure. But the graphics are awesome!
Looking forward to hanging out, drinking beers, and photographing bands – rain or shine (but please, please, please no rain this year. I had to throw out my boots after the muddiest that was WOA 2023). I’ll be bringing my new/used 70-200mm lens which is a fucking cannon (and a Canon) so I’ll hopefully have loads of photos to share post festival (and probably some knots in my back from lugging around that damn lens.) My third, let’s fucking do this!
